Cloud, Platform and DevOps Software Developer (C# .NET Core)

This role combines Software Development with Cloud, Platform, and DevOps management to ensure our applications and services are designed, developed, and managed efficiently.

Working with an established team of Product Managers, Developers, Testers, and Support Teams, you will be part of a team who own, drive, and improve our Cloud (Azure) and VM based solutions.

Principal Accountabilities

• Develop and support our Cloud services, Cloud platforms, VM and container-based solutions.
• Manage the Azure Cloud infrastructure, supporting deployments, automation, updates, upgrades and monitoring as part of the solution delivery.
• Write software of a high standard to deploy into cloud based and closed networks, meeting our project and product requirements.
• Develop software in line with software development standards and procedures.
• Work in an Agile team to translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in unit, system and acceptance testing by writing tests and supporting the test team.
• Support other departments (Engineering, Hardware, Marketing, Sales, Support) when required.

C# Programming Skillset

• Significant Programming Experience with C#.
• Strong ASP.Net Core skills, specifically working with Web API.
• Familiarity of RESTful fundamentals and principles
• Experienced with Entity Framework (EF) Core
• Desirable: Familiarity of Angular practices and commonly used modules based on work experience.

Cloud qualifications and experience:

• Significant experience with deploying and operation of containerised software.
• Significant experience with running Azure software on a daily basis in a cloud environment.
• Significant experience of build and release automation.

• Responsible – Developing and running a large software estate on behalf of our customers requires a high degree of responsibility and integrity to ensure that the job is done properly on their behalf.

Experience

• Technical degree (or equivalent industry experience) – graduate or graduate calibre
• Proven experience developing applications/solutions.
• Desirable: A track record of community participation in your field of expertise (meetups, talks, podcasts, etc.).
